SOCIAL AND SUSTAINABLE IMPACT STATEMENT
At Things Matter, we are building a creative, community-driven response to the fashion industry’s waste crisis. Through material redistribution, inclusive workshops, and support for emerging designers, we champion circularity, accessibility, and collective action.

Our work directly contributes to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including:
-
SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production – by extending the life of materials and promoting upcycling and reuse.
-
SDG 13: Climate Action – by reducing textile waste and encouraging low-impact practices in fashion.
-
SDG 4: Quality Education – by offering hands-on learning opportunities and knowledge-sharing through workshops and our craft library.
-
SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities – by making resources and creative opportunities available to underrepresented and emerging designers.
-
SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals – by collaborating with local organisations, businesses, and community members to co-create solutions.

We believe sustainability must be collective, creative, and rooted in care; for people and the planet. Our impact is measured not just in materials saved, but in skills shared, opportunities created, and communities connected.
